Renter's Insurance

Many landlords today require renters insurance from their residents. It's a good idea. Renters insurance protects you in cases of negligence (intentional or unintentional), and also protects your landlord, to a certain degree.

It also protects you in case of accidents -- a guest falls down the stairs; a neighbor trips on the sidewalk outside; someone falls off the balcony; and my personal favorite, the tub overflows and floods the downstairs apartment…
